What
is the Yarralumla Residents' Association The
YRA is a registered organization formed to represent the views of residents of
Yarralumla. Membership is voluntary and by subscription.
It is available to both residents and businesses located within Yarralumla. The
YRA has a membership of about 10% of the houses in the suburb-about 100.
The YRA has been active over many years in putting forward members interests
to Government. Priorities have been the desire to preserve the amenity of the
suburb in the context of a desire by governments and developers for urban
consolidation. Objectives The
Yarralumla Residents' Association aims to represent all those in the community
who reside in Yarralumla, with particular emphasis on maintaining and improving
the quality of life for the residents of Yarralumla. Its
specific aims are: a. To provide a focus and co-ordination point for representing
the views of the Yarralumla community; b. To work towards maintaining and
improving the quality of life of the Yarralumla community; c. To keep the
Yarralumla community informed, through a regular Newsletter and community meetings.
