September 2007: The NCA has appointed consultants Hoadley
Budge Olphert plus Edwards Madigan Torzillo Briggs as consultants to prepare
the Master Plan for the Yarralumla Bay Recreation Hub. Discussions will be held
with community representatives including the YRA over coming months, with the
aim of submitting a plan by mid-2008. The revised design
brief includes the YRA submission made in May 2007. Members are asked to direct
their comments to the YRA, either by post or email, to help the YRA provide a
co-ordinated response to the NCA. We are glad to note that several statements
in the earlier design brief about powerboat events on the lake, to which the YRA
drew attention, have been withdrawn. 9

YRA Committee will report and invite views on: - Yarralumla Receational Hub
submission ( Craig Egle, NCA, has been invited to the AGM to speak about the Hub
design brief and consultant appointment); - Albert Hall submission and the
formation of the Friends of the Albert Hall; - The proposed Immigration Bridge;
- Hill Corner Preschool expansion and Hill Corner Park; - Embassy site
DA next to Casey House; - Input to the heritage listing of the lake and Stirling
Park; - Work around the Brickworks; - Sustainable suburbs initiatives.

May 2007: On 24th May from 5.30 pm - 7.30 pm at the Albert Hall there will be
a public meeting to discuss future directions for the Albert Hall. A panel with
local senators and MHRs, Chief Minister for the ACT John Stanhope, representatives
of the Heritage Council, the Walter Burley Griffin Society and the Friends of
the Albert Hall will answer questions from the audience. Please try to attend

March 2007: St Nicholas Preschool at Hill Corner has applied for permission for
a building to accomodate 40 children and a change in the lease conditions from

March 2007: Albert Hall Precinct development proposal,
known as National
Capital Plan Draft Amendment 53. Further NCA public information sessions will
be held on 22 March 2007 at Regatta Point (5.30-7.30pm) and on 24 March 2007 from
9.30am-5pm in the same venue. This is in response to demands at the first meeting
on 5March 2007 for more satisfactory communication. NOTE:
written comments period closes on 13 April 2007. The YRA will be at the Yarralumla
shops on the morning of Saturday 17 March 2007 to record your comments into a
consolidated submission to the NCA. Please download and sign the Petition. 28
February 2007: There will be a public information session at the Albert Hall,
Commonwealth Avenue, Yarralumla, on Monday 5 March from 4pm to 7pm, about the
proposed new development in the Albert Hall precinct. This development is in our
suburb and will relate to the development of the
