The Yarralumla Residents' Association (YRA) has created
this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to protecting
personal privacy. This statement addresses collection, use and access to information
that may be obtained through the use of the YRA's web site.Information
Collected and How it is UsedInformation collected if you
only browse this site.If you do nothing during your visit to our
web site but browse, read pages, or download information, our ISP will gather
and store certain information about your visit. This information does not identify
you personally. Our ISP will automatically collect and store the following information
about your visit: 1. The Internet Protocol Address and domain name used.
The Internet Protocol address is a numerical identifier assigned either to your
Internet Service Provider or directly to your computer. We use the Internet Protocol
Address to direct Internet traffic to you. This address can be translated to determine
the domain name of your service provider (e.g. xcompany.com or yourschool.edu);
2. The type of browser and operating system you used; 3. The date and time
you visited this site; 4. The web pages or services you accessed at this site;
and 5. The web site you visited prior to coming to this web site. Purpose
for collecting this information and use of informationFor site management
purposes, information is collected for statistical purposes. The YRA's Internet
Service Provider (ISP) uses software programs to create summary statistics, which
are used for such purposes as assessing what information is of most and least
interest, determining technical design specifications, and identifying system
performance or problem areas.YRA may analyse the web logs to continually
improve the value of the services available on our site. Our web site logs are
not personally identifiable, and we make no attempt to link them with any individual
or organisation. Personal information
"Personal
information" means information or an opinion (including information or an
opinion forming part of a database), whether true or not, and whether recorded
in a material form or not, about an individual whose identity is apparent, or
can reasonably be ascertained, from the information or opinion. Personal information
includes such things as an individual's name, address, and phone number. A domain
name or Internet Protocol address is not considered personal information. We
collect no personal information about you unless you voluntarily participate in
an activity that asks for information (e.g. sending an e-mail or participating
in a survey).If you choose not to participate in these activities,
your choice will in no way effect your ability to use any other feature of YRA's
web site.If you volunteer personal information, your details
will only be used for the purpose for which you provided them and will not be
added to any mailing list unless you ask for this to be done or this was the specified
purpose for the collection of your personal information.We
will not use your details for any other purpose, and will not disclose them to

Access and correction of personal information

to your personal information you believe in error by submitting a written request
that credibly shows the error.If you believe that your personal

you may contact us. In all cases, we will take reasonable steps to verify your

of Cookies and Applets"Cookies" are simple text files stored
on your computer by your web browser. The YRA does not currently use cookies on
its web site. However, because cookies can be used to customize your browsing
experience, the YRA may decide to use them in the future. If the decision is made
to use cookies, they will not contain personally identifiable information or otherwise
compromise your privacy or security.Applets are tools downloaded to your
computer to work with the software you have. Applets are intended to enhance your
browsing experience by enabling you to view information in a unique manner or
enable access to information that your computer would otherwise be unable to access
without the applet. The YRA does not currently use applets. If the decision is
made to utilize applets users of the YRA's web site would not be required to use
